On Friday evening, Robert Largan, Conservative Candidate for High Peak, welcomed the Minister for the Middle East & North Africa, Rt Hon Alistair Burt MP, to Chapel-en-le-Frith.
The Minister, who has duel responsibilities for both the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the Department for International Development, was the guest speaker at a local fundraiser for Robert Largan’s campaign.
In a packed out pub in Chapel-en-le-Frith, Mr Burt gave a speech covering a range of topics, covering his time serving alongside Jeremy Corbyn on Haringey Council in the early 1980s to Ministerial brief which spans from Mauritania to Iran.
Local Conservative members also had a lengthy Q&A policy discussion with the Minister. Future fundraisers and guest speakers are planned and are open to all High Peak Conservative Association members.
