Derbyshire businesswoman Jane Phillips reaches final of national transport and logistics award

The finalists for the 2020 Amazon everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards have been announced. Against the backdrop of the global Covid-19 crisis, which has demonstrated the critical role the industry plays in keeping the world moving, the finalists represent 60 of the most outstanding individuals working in transport and logistics today.

Jane Phillips, Managing Director of Pride and Joy, reached the final of the award that will recognise an individual at any stage in their career who is going “above and beyond” for their business.

Pride and Joy specialises in the design and supply of branded uniforms and accessories to the bus and coach industry throughout the UK.  Established in 2001, the company was originally based Jane’s home town of Buxton. The company is now based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, and employs 5 local residents.

Jane’s business is currently helping coach firms navigate social distancing requirements by developing seat signage products. Her most recent project set up a volunteer network of people who have created over 1,500 PPE items for care home workers, police forces and hospital staff.

Robert Largan MP congratulated Jane:

“This is a fantastic achievement, and I am really pleased that a business that started in Buxton has received the recognition it deserves. A great example of Buxton’s brilliant business community!”

“I wish everyone at Pride and Joy the best of luck at the awards ceremony in October, and every success for the future.”
